TARGETED TOPICS

Sunday Session: "Making an Impact"
8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Action by the Indiana General Assembly can have great impact on the practice of Chiropractic, upon patients, and upon Doctors of Chiropractic. For this reason it’s important that DC’s recognize the importance of good communication with their State Senator and State Representative. It’s important that legislators learn about the profession from Chiropractors and their patients, and not from others who might perpetuate myth and misinformation.
To that end, the session will cover an overview of the legislative process, a summary of the 2008 legislative session, a look ahead to the 2009 legislative session, a discussion of the state’s political climate, some tips on getting to know one’s legislators, and details for various means of communicating with legislators at different points in the legislative process. DC’s will be asked to share some of their experiences in “grassroots” contact with their legislators. A plan for dealing with anticipated 2009 issues will be discussed.
